Acevedoaponte died in Rustamiyah, Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV. He was assigned to the 3rd Forward Support Battalion, Division Support Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on October 26, 2005.

Acklin died when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on November 15, 2003.

Army Spc. Genaro Acosta, 26, of Fair Oaks, California.

Acosta was on patrol when his Bradley vehicle hit and detonated two improvised explosive devices in Taji, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 4th Infantry Division (Mech), Fort Hood, Texas. Died on November 11, 2003.

Army Pfc. Steven Acosta, 19, of Calexico, California.

Acosta died from a non-hostile gunshot wound in Baqubah, Iraq. He was assigned to C Company, 3rd Battalion, 67th Armored Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on October 26, 2003.

Adams died of non-combat related injuries at Forward Operating Base St. Mere, Iraq. Adams was assigned to the 122nd Engineer Battalion, Army National Guard, Edgefield, South Carolina. Died on October 28, 2003.

Adams was participating in a small arms fire exercise on the range when a bullet ricocheted and ignited a fire in the building. Killed when two Royal Navy Sea King helicopters collided over international waters. He was assigned as an exchange officer with the Royal Navy's 849 Squadron since October 2002. Died on March 22, 2003.

He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 125th Infantry Regiment, Saginaw, Michigan. Died on December 8, 2005.

Army Spc. Segun Frederick Akintade, 34, of Brooklyn, New York.

Akintade died in Abd Allah, Iraq, when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry Regiment, New York, New York. Died on October 28, 2004.

Marine Capt. Paul C. Alaniz, 32, of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Alaniz died when the CH-53E helicopter he was in crashed near Ar Rutbah, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California. Died on January 26, 2005.

Alarcon died in Tal Afar, Iraq, when his HMMWV accidentally rolled over during combat operations. He was assigned to the Army's 473rd Quartermaster Company, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. Died on November 17, 2005.

Alcozer died in Mosul, Iraq, when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire and grenades. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Died on November 19, 2005.

Navy Hospitalman Zachary M. Alday, 22, of Donalsonville, Georgia.

Alday died from injuries sustained earlier in the day when the vehicle in which he was riding struck a land mine while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 7th Regimental Combat Team, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), Camp Pendleton, California. Died on June 9, 2006.

Aldrich died from a non-hostile vehicle accident in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on August 27, 2004.

Alexander died at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, of injuries sustained in Samarra, Iraq, on October 17, 2005 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Bradley Fighting Vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on October 22, 2005.

Marine Lance Cpl. Brian E. Anderson, 26, of Durham, North Carolina.

Killed in a non-hostile accident west of An Nasiriyah, Iraq. Anderson was manning a .50 caliber rifle on top of a 7-ton truck when the vehicle passed under and apparently snagged low hanging power lines. He was assigned to the 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on April 2, 2003.

Anderson died in Baghdad, Iraq, from injuries sustained from small arms fire. Anderson was assigned to 26th Forward Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on February 27, 2005.

Army Spc. Todd M. Bates, 20, of Bellaire, Ohio.

Bates was on a river patrol on the Tigris River south of Baghdad, Iraq, December 10, 2003 when his squad leader fell overboard. Bates dived into the water and did not surface. He was originally listed in a duty status whereabouts unknown status. Bates' body was subsequently recovered and his status changed to deceased on December 23, 2003. He was assigned to the 135th Military Police Company, Army National Guard, based in Brookpark, Ohio.

Marine Lance Cpl. Daniel Scott R. Bubb, 19, of Grottoes, Virginia.

Bubb died from small-arms fire while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Al Rutbah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, his unit was attached to 2nd Marine Division, II MEF (Forward). Died on October 17, 2005.

Army Staff Sgt. Ernest G. Bucklew, 33, of Enon Valley, Pennsylvania.

Bucklew was on board a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter when it went down in Al Fallujah, Iraq. The cause of the incident is unknown and an investigation is underway. He was assigned to Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on November 2, 2003.

Army Spc. Roy Russell Buckley, 24, of Portage, Indiana.

Buckley was aboard a M818 truck traveling in a convoy when he exited the passenger compartment, climbed into the trailer and did not return. Buckley was discovered lying on the side of the road with serious injuries. Medical aid was summoned and he was pronounced dead. Buckley was assigned to the 685th Transportation Company, Hobart, Indiana. Died on April 22, 2003.

Army Cpl. Ryan J. Buckley, 21, of Nokomis, Illinois.

Buckley died in Baghdad, Iraq of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during combat operations. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on June 23, 2006.

Army Spc. Brock L. Bucklin, 28, of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bucklin died in Balad, Iraq, of a non-combat related cause. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on May 31, 2006.

Army Spc. Paul J. Bueche, 19, of Daphne, Alabama.

Bueche was changing a tire on a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in Balad, Iraq when the tire exploded. He was assigned to the 131st Aviation Regiment, Army National Guard, Birmingham, Alabama. Died on October 21, 2003.

Army Lt. Col. Charles H. Buehring, 40, of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Buehring was fatally injured during a rocket-propelled grenade attack on the Al-Rasheed Hotel in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to Army Central Command Headquarters (Forward), Fort McPherson, Georgia. Died on October 26, 2003.

Marine Lance Cpl. Brian Rory Buesing, 20, of Cedar Key, Florida.

Killed in combat in the vicinity of An Nasiriyah. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on March 23, 2003.

Army Sgt. George Edward Buggs, 31, of Barnwell, South Carolina.

Killed in action after his convoy was ambushed in Iraq on March 23, 2003. He was assigned to the 3rd Forward Support Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Army Cpl. Jimmy D. Buie, 43, of Floral, Arkansas.

Buie died in Taji, Iraq, when an improvised explosive devise detonated near his military vehicle. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 3rd Battalion, 153rd Infantry Regiment, 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Fordyce, Arkansas. Died on January 4, 2005.

Army Spc. Joshua I. Bunch, 23, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Bunch died in Baghdad, Iraq, when individuals using small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades attacked his vehicle. He was assigned to the 91st Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on August 6, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Christopher Bunda, 29, of Washington.

Bunda was originally listed as Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown (DUSTWUN) when his boat capsized during a river patrol on the Tigris River on January 25, 2004. His remains were recovered on February 10, 2004. Bunda was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry, Fort Lewis, Washington.

Army Staff Sgt. Michael L. Burbank, 34, of Bremerton, Washington.

Burbank died in Mosul, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Stryker military vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on October 11, 2004.

Army Staff Sgt. Richard A. Burdick, 24, of National City, California.

Burdick was in a convoy when his vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to Company C, 3rd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on December 10, 2003.

Burger died as result of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Died on November 14, 2004.

Burgess died in Mosul, Iraq, when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his patrol vehicle. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 197th Field Artillery Brigade, Army National Guard, Woodsville, New Hampshire. Died on October 15, 2004.

Army Sgt. Travis L. Burkhardt, 26, of Edina, Missouri.

Burkhardt was part of an escort mission when the vehicle he was in hit a curb along the road and rolled over in Baghdad, Iraq. Burkhardt was assigned to 170th Military Police Company, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on June 6, 2003.

Burnett died as a result of a vehicle accident in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on May 11, 2006.

Bush was in a convoy in Balad, Iraq when his vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 402nd Civil Affairs Battalion, 354th Civil Affairs Brigade, 352nd Civil Affairs Command, U.S. Army Reserve, based in Riverdale Park, Maryland. Died on December 19, 2003.

Army Pvt. Matthew D. Bush, 20, of East Alton, Illinois.

A fellow soldier tried to wake Bush at Camp Caldwell, Iraq and noticed he was not breathing. Bush was assigned to F Troop, 1st Squadron, 10th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on August 8, 2003.

Army Pfc. Damian S. Bushart, 22, of Waterford, Michigan.

Bushart died of injuries sustained when a tank collided with his vehicle in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to A Troop, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Armstrong Barracks, Germany. Died on November 22, 2003.
